Mission Statement:

"The Butte Creek Watershed Conservancy was established to protect, restore and enhance the cultural, economic and ecological heritage of the Butte Creek Watershed through cooperative landowner action."

Brief Description:

The Butte Creek Watershed Conservancy (BCWC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that focuses conservation efforts on the approximately 510,000-acre Butte Creek watershed from its headwaters to its historical confluence with the Sacramento River at Colusa.  Impetus for forming the BCWC stemmed from growing stakeholder concerns regarding issues that include, but are not limited to endangered species protection, water supply demands, land use practices, recreational impacts, fire and flood hazard, and urban development.

The BCWC is comprised of a group of Board of Directors representing various stakeholder concerns.  The BCWC holds monthly Board of Directors meetings during which the vision and energy of the Conservancy is focused.
