Ed Chombeau retired from the Defense Industry in 1992, and  moved to Magalia from Southern California Nov 21, 1997. He is a Charter Member of the board  of Directors for the BC Resource Conservation District and the BC Fire Safe Council. At the State level; he is on the Forest Stewardship Coordinating Committee for Cal Fire and on the CARCD Fuels Reduction committee.

Ed volunteers for his Paradise Pines POA Architectural Control and Greenbelt Committees. Also, Ed assists the 5th Grade Educational Trail Days Program for the Upper Ridge Wilderness Areas. Another hat Ed wears, is on the Resource Conservation Committee for the Upper ridge Coordinating Council. Ed lives with his wife Glenda in Paradise Pines.
